Registration Status of Private Schools in Singapore
- Private Education Institutions Registered with the Council for Private Education
These private education institutions are registered with the Council for Private Education (CPE) under the Private Education Act (2009). Details on the requirements for registration are found in the Private Education Act and the Private Education Regulations.
Students are strongly encouraged to to find out all they can about the private education institution they wish to enrol in, and especially to check whether the private education institution provides for the protection of school fees via an escrow bank account or insurance scheme approved by the Council for Private Education.
- Private Schools and External Degree Programme Providers Previously Registered with the Ministry of Education
From 21 December 2009, private schools and external degree providers previously registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE) are required to register as private education institutions with the Council for Private Education within a specific timeframe if they wish to continue to operate.
Students may refer to the above categories "Private Education Institutions Registered with the Council for Private Education" and "Private Education Institutions which have Submitted their Application to be Registered with the Council for Private Education" to ascertain if a private school or external degree programme provider has sought registration with, or been granted registration by the Council for Private Education.
The following are schools and external degree programme providers previously registered with the Ministry of Education (MOE):
