Assessor (Private Education)
Responsibilities
As an Assessor in the Council for Private Education (CPE), you will assess Private Education Institutions’ (PEIs) suitability to be certified under the EduTrust scheme.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Conducting desk-top review of documents submitted by PEIs on their systems and processes
• Conducting on-site review of documents and interviews with staff, teachers and students to verify implementation of systems and processes
• Providing feedback and advice to PEIs pertaining to EduTrust certification
• Monitoring and conducting on-site checks on PEIs to ensure that EduTrust standards are maintained
• Investigating PEIs arising from complaints and queries, and producing reports with recommendations to the CPE
Assessors may be appointed as Lead Assessors (LAs). A LA will have these additional responsibilities:
• Assisting the Chief Assessor to plan the EduTrust certification and monitoring schedules
• Guiding and mentoring new or less experienced Assessors in the team
• Providing feedback to refine the EduTrust scheme and processes
Requirements
• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• A university degree in any discipline
• Possess at least 3 years of teaching experience with a good understanding of academic processes and structures; or at least 3 years of experience in quality assurance, preferably in conducting internal quality audit on ISO9000
• Possess a keen sense of observation, the ability to zoom in on relevant issues and asking the right questions
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Comfortable with a significant amount of analytical and nuanced report-writing

Assistant Manager, Finance
Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager, Finance in the Council for Private Education (CPE), you will assist the Manager in all aspects of CPE’s finance functions.
Your key responsibilities include:
• Managing day-to-day financial activities which include resource management and budgeting as well as ensuring that internal controls are being adhered to and are in compliance with the government’s regulations, Private Education Act, Instruction Manuals and relevant Financial Reporting Standards
• Assisting in the design, implementation and review of policies and guidelines to enhance CPE’s corporate governance and to achieve greater operational efficiency and effectiveness
• Assisting in the analysis and forecast of CPE’s financial performance and preparing timely financial information for Senior Management
• Liaising with both internal and external auditors in the management of operational and statutory audits
• Providing advice, guidance and training to the various departmental end users of the Council on proper compliance with financial and procurement policies
Requirements
• Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident
• A local polytechnic diploma, preferably in Business Management, Business Studies, Accountancy or equivalent, and at least 2 years of relevant experience
• Strong analytical, problem solving, writing and interpersonal skills
• An effective and responsive team player with the ability to work independently and efficiently under tight deadlines and pressure
• Knowledge of GeBIZ, and government finance policies and procedures will be an advantage
